Kim Delaney has won Emmy Awards for the role of the character Detective Diane Russell. Also, she is known for her roles in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was born the sole child from her mom who was a homemaker as well as a an executive in her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney was a child with 4 brothers. Though she had a goal of becoming a journalist, it wasn't until high school when Delaney started modeling. After moving away from New York City and gaining experiences in commercials and commercials in New York did she achieve her dream of becoming aspiring court reporters. Her first acting job was as a teenage innocent as a child in All My Children, a soap-opera from 1981. Her career as an actor has been awash by a myriad of TV films and dramas. She has not had a successful or happy personal life. She has also experienced two unsuccessful marriages and struggled with alcoholism. The actress lost custody of her son in 2005.
